Employer Related Questions

Are all companies eligible for the programme?

The programme is open to all Singapore-registered or Singapore–incorporated organisations, including societies and non-profit organisations.

Will employers be entitled to funding if they also send non SG/ PR employees for the programme?

Only Singaporeans and PRs will be eligible for funding subsidy and absentee payroll.

Non-Singaporean and PRs who are keen to participate in SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace may pay the full course fees as stipulated by the CET partner.

Will there be enhanced funding for SMEs?

Singaporeans and PRs sent for training by SMEs will pay the same nett course fee of $50 (including GST).

Is there a restriction on the number of staff each employer send for SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

No. Companies may send as many staff for training, as deemed required.

What is SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace about?

SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace is a foundational training programme that aims to equip the Singaporean workforce with the relevant mindset and skills to prepare them for the future economy.

Future-ready Singaporeans will be able to:

  • Welcome and anticipate changes in workplaces;

  • Be aware of current and emerging technology and data trends;

  • Have the confidence to navigate their learning and career pathways throughout life stages; and

  • Able to perform functional tasks in digital economy.

How will I benefit from SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme would equip participants with foundational digital literacy skills for work, in four key areas: data, innovation, technology and mindset change.

At the end of the programme, participants would also develop a self-directed action plan to identify courses that would allow them to further deepen their skills in the four areas.

What are the expected learning outcomes for SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

At the end of the programme, participants will be:

  1. Aware of what jobs in the future economy entail;

  2. Able to work in a technology-rich environment;

  3. Aware of the importance of cyber security in daily / work applications;

  4. Aware of how data and information can be used;

  5. Able to perform functional outcomes such as enrolling in a course on MySkillsFuture Portal or performing basic cyber security actions
    e.g. setting up passwords to protect data or information; and

  6. Able to develop an action plan to continue learning.

How long is the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

It will be 2 days (approximately 18 hours) depending on the training requirements.

Is SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace available in other languages?

The programme is currently delivered in English for the pilot run, as most websites and IT applications are in English. SSG would work with the appointed CET partners to review if there is sufficient demand for the programme to be delivered in other languages.

Would I need to bring a mobile device or laptop in order to participate in SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

Learners are encouraged to bring along their personal digital devices for the programme to enjoy the full benefits of the programme.

Nonetheless, interested participants who do not have a personal digital device may approach the CET partners, who would be able to assist.

Will there be assessment at the end of the programme?

There will not be a final written assessment at the end of the programme.

However, participants will be tasked to perform specific functional outcomes throughout the programme, to ensure that there is transfer of knowledge and learners have acquired the intended digital literacy skills.

Participants would also be required to develop a self-directed action plan at the end of the course, to identify courses that would allow them to further deepen their skills in the four areas of data, innovation, mindset and technology.

Who is eligible to participate in SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace?

The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace programme aims to equip all levels of Singaporean adults (including those planning to return to the workforce) with digital literacy skills that would prepare them for the future economy.

Who is eligible for funding?

Singaporeans and PRs will be eligible for funding.

Non-Singaporean and non-PRs who are keen to participate in SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace may still participate in the programme and pay full course fees, as stipulated by the CET partner.

What are the course fees payable?

Singaporeans and PRs who are keen to participate in SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace will pay a nett course fee of $50 (including of GST).

Can I use my SkillsFuture Credit to pay the course fees of $50?

Yes.

Will there be enhanced funding for Singaporeans aged 40 and above?

All Singaporeans and PRs will pay the same course fee of $50 (including GST).

Will there be enhanced funding for Singaporeans with WTS letters?

All Singaporeans and PRs will pay the same course fee of $50 (including GST).

Will there be enhanced funding for SME Sponsored Trainees?

All Singaporeans and PRs will pay the same course fee of $50 (including GST).

Are there any differences in the curriculum and delivery of the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace offered by different CET Partners?

The CET partners have designed the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace according to a standardised syllabus and guided set of learning outcomes.

CET partners may contextualise the course to better suit the needs of learners and to ensure that specific target audience would be able to apply the learning back to their daily lives and workplaces.

Will participants be allowed to choose their preferred CET Partners?

Yes, participants may enroll for the course directly with the CET partners.

What kind of industry qualifications / certificates will I get upon course completion?

The key objective of the SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace is for learners to be equipped with digital literacy skills that can be applied back at their workplaces.

Thus, learners can expect to achieve specific functional outcomes at the end of the course, for example enrolling for a course on MySkillsFuture portal or performing basic cyber security actions e.g. setting up passwords to protect data or information. Learners would also be receive a certificate of completion upon course completion.
