What Is it?
The SkillsFuture Fellowship is a tripartite initiative that recognises Singapore Citizens who have acquired deep skills through significant work experience, are champions of lifelong learning and deeply committed to contributing to the skills development of others. Up to 100 awards will be given out annually at steady state.
Who Is It For?
The SkillsFuture Fellowships are for Singapore Citizens with at least 10 years of working experience in the same (or related) industry or job functions. Employers, trade associations and chambers, and unions are welcome to nominate suitable individuals for SkillsFuture Fellowship. Individuals may also apply for the award themselves. The broad criteria are:
Possess deep skills in relevant areas of professional and technical expertise;
Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to lifelong learning and mastery of domain, with plans to pursue further skills mastery; and
Contribute significantly to the skills development of others, as an active advocate for lifelong learning and skills development.
How does it work?
SkillsFuture Fellows will receive a monetary award of S$10,000 each to support their continued journey towards skills mastery in their respective fields.
How Will I Benefit?
You can use the award monies to access a wide range of skills deepening and upgrading options. The training programmes, which may be conducted locally or overseas, should lead to the acquisition of skills and knowledge which will add value to your career development.
How do I sign up?
Applications will open from 8 Dec 2017 to 31 Mar 2018.
Applicants must provide a Letter of Recommendation using the specified template, which should be signed off by a referee whom has known the applicant for at least one (1) year.
a. For employed individuals, the referee should be your current/past employer(s).
b. For self-employed individuals, the referee should be someone whom you know from your work (e.g. business associate).
