What Is it?

The SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree Programmes allow students to acquire deep technical and essential generic skills, which will facilitate the students’ transition from the universities to the workplace after graduation.

The programmes achieve this by featuring curricula that closely integrate institution-based learning with structured on-the-job training, and by partnering companies on the development and delivery of the respective programmes, and assessing students' performance at the workplace.

The National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) are currently offering SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree Programmes in the following programmes and with the following partner companies:

Who Is It For?

The SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree Programmes are for students looking to enter the selected programmes at the participating universities. The programmes are also open to in-employment upgraders.

How Will I Benefit?

As a student, you will:

  • Get a stronger grounding of theory in real work environments, enhancing your job-readiness upon graduation.

  • Receive support from your sponsoring company. This may include (but is not restricted to) tuition fee sponsorship, stipends and sign-on bonuses.

  • Gain an opportunity to learn more about your sponsoring company’s work culture.

  • Stand a good chance to be offered career opportunities with your sponsoring company upon graduation.

How Does It Work?

The SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree Programmes will generally be delivered in either of two modes:

  • Term-in/Term-out: students alternate between spending one to two terms (or trimesters) in university and at the workplace; or

  • Work-day/Study-day: students alternate between working three or four days in the partner company, and studying in university for the remaining one or two days each week.
