Presented by the President of the Republic of Singapore, the SkillsFuture Employer Awards honour exemplary organisations, which lead the way in championing employees’ skills development and building a culture of lifelong learning in their workplace.

Eligibility

The SkillsFuture Employer Awards is open to all Singapore registered entities, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), corporations, and voluntary welfare organisations. There are two categories under the awards: SkillsFuture Employer Awards for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and SkillsFuture Employer Awards for Non-SMEs.

Judging Process

All applications will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprising representatives from the industry, unions, and the government.

The judging criteria are:

SME Category Non-SME Category 
 a. Participate in SkillsFuture and/or other efforts in building a lifelong learning culture in the workplace

Company should demonstrate how it has been supporting the SkillsFuture movement and developing workplace learning initiatives in the organisation or industry.

E.g. participates in Skills Framework development, participates in work-learn programme such as SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme, supports employees for training identified under the Skills Framework, facilities sharing of skills and knowledge amongst employees.

Company should demonstrate how it has been supporting the SkillsFuture movement and developing employee capabilities to support business and employee development needs.

E.g. participates in Skills Framework development, participates in work-learn programmes such as SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme, contributes to the development of industry-based training centre, sets up training academy to train other employees in the industry.

 b. Recognise skills and mastery when hiring and in the career development of their employees

Company should display a strong commitment to develop a company culture that supports lifelong learning and skills mastery by employees.

E.g. adopts Skills Framework in assessing employees and hiring candidates, able to provide examples of employees who achieved good career progression based on their skills achievement.

Company should display a strong commitment to develop a company culture that supports lifelong learning and skills mastery by employees.

E.g. adopts Skills Framework in assessing employees and hiring candidates and influenced other employers to adopt Skills Frameworks, able to provide examples of employees who achieved good career progression based on their skills achievement.

 c. Align employee development efforts with other national manpower objectives

Company has strengthened its competitiveness and sustainability by adopting initiatives to enhance productivity, building a strong Singaporean Core, and/or creating a good work environment.

E.g. tapped on Lean Enterprise Development (LED) scheme, created flexible and inclusive work environment for different worker segments such as mature workers, persons with disabilities, back-to-work locals.

Company has strengthened its competitiveness and sustainability by adopting initiatives to enhance productivity, building a strong Singaporean Core, and/or creating a good work environment.

E.g. tapped on Lean Enterprise Development (LED) scheme, created flexible and inclusive work environment for different worker segments such as mature workers, persons with disabilities, back-to-work locals.


Award Ceremony

As the Patron of the SkillsFuture Employer Awards, the President of the Republic of Singapore will honour exemplary employers at an award ceremony, recognising them as skills-development leaders and employers of choice for shaping Singapore’s future talent.
